HomeMy WebLinkAboutE&R 2008-01-30 -., NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW, JANUARY 30, 2008 ASSEMBLY The New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review met on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room 601 of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to hear appeals filed by property owners regarding their tax value assessments. I BOOK 1 PAGE 456 Members present were: Chairman William A. Caster, Commissioner William A. Kopp, Jr. and Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett. Vice-Chairman Robert G. Greer and Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr. were absent. Staff members present were: Assistant Tax Administrator Roger Kelley, Appraiser Pete Richardson, Appraisal Supervisor Henry 1. Montgomery, and Deputy Clerk to the Board Kymberleigh G. Crowell. Board of Equalization and Review Chairman Caster called the meeting to order. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE ASSISTANT ASSESSOR AS THE INTERIM CLERK TO THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW. Chairman Caster stated that the Board is requested to consider and adopt the resolution appointing the Assistant Assessor as the Interim Clerk to the Board of Equalization and Review during the absence of the Assessor. I Chairman Caster read the resolution into the record and requested direction from the Board. Motion: Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner William A. Kopp, Jr., to adopt the resolution appointing the Assistant Assessor as the Interim Clerk to the Board of Equalization and Review during the absence of the Assessor. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED 3 TO O. A copy of the resolution is hereby incorporated as a part of the minutes and is contained in Exhibit Book XXXI, Page 3. Appellants were informed that the Board would hear the appeals and make decisions following the hearings and that the Assistant Tax Administrator would notify each appellant by mail of the Board's decision.
