ASSEMBLY
The New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review met in Regular Session on Monday,
May 5, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North
Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: Chairman Robert G. Greer; Vice-Chairman William A. Caster;
Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr.; Commissioner William A. Kopp; Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett;
County Attorney Wanda M. Copley; Deputy Clerk to the Board Teresa P. Elmore; and County Manager
Bruce Shell.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN OF THE 2008 BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW
Tax Administrator Roger Kelley requested the Board appoint a Chairman of the 2008 Board of
Equalization and Review.
Motion: Commissioner Kopp MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chairman Caster, to appoint Robert G.
Greer to serve as Chairman of the 2008 Board of Equalization and Review. Upon vote, the MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
ENTRY OF TAX APPEALS INTO THE RECORD
Tax Administrator Kelley presented a list of 138 property owners who have submitted written
appeals to be heard by the 2008 Board of Equalization and Review. Pursuant to State Statutes, appeals
shall be received until 5:30 p.m. on June 16,2008, at the Tax Department, 230 Government Center Drive,
Suite 190, Wilmington, NC. He requested that those in the audience who wanted to make an appeal
should come forward. No one stepped forward.
A copy of the list of appellants is hereby incorporated as a part of the minutes and is contained in
Exhibit Book XXXI, Page 10.10.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Chairman Greer adjourn the meeting at 7: 10 p.m.
