1974-02-18 RM ExhibitsA 1_~ I PROCLAMATION WHEREAS: The Public Health, Safety and Welfare of this community depends on the services of Engineers in the design and construction of buildings, highways, bridges, sewers, machines, electronics, flood control, coastal protection, marine facilities, power generation, and all types of industrial facilities and public facilities involving the environment of mankind, and especially our energy resources; and WHEREAS: "Engineering - Our Greatest Energy Resource" is the theme for the Engineering profession in National Engineers Week of 1974, and WHEREAS: It is the desire of this office and community to recognize the importance of this challenge to the Engineering Profession, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: That I, Douglas Powell, Chairman do proclaim February 17-23, 1974 as NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK in New Hanover County, North Carolina and call upon Citizens to acquaint themselves . with the role of Engineers in our Society and to recognize this important role in our environmental facilities required to safeguard the health, L safety and welfare of the public. ;` _'_ Chairman, H over County Commissioners Wilmington, N. Also we agree to dedicate additional right of way in the public road intersections for sight distance and design purposes and to execute the right of way agreement forms that will be submitted to us by forces of the Highway Commission in order that the Highway Com- mission fulfill the requirements of Chapter 1244, 1959 Session of the General Assembly of North Carolina.
