ASSEMBLY
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners met for a Special Meeting on Friday, December 19,
2008, at 8:30 a.m. in the Lucie F. Harrell Conference Room at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230
Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: Chairman Ted Davis, Jr.; Vice-Chairman Jason R. Thompson; Commissioner
Robert G. Greer; Commissioner William A. Caster; Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, Jr.; County Attorney Wanda
M. Copley; Assistant Finance Director Barbara McClure; Clerk to the Board Sheila L. Schult; and Deputy Clerk to
the Board Teresa P. Elmore.
Chairman Davis called the meeting to order and announced that the purpose of the meeting is to fill two
seats on the Board of Equalization and Review vacated by Commissioners Kopp and Pritchett.
Chairman Davis requested a motion to appoint Vice-Chairman Thompson and Commissioner Barfield to
the 2008 Board of Equalization and Review.
Motion:
Commissioner Caster MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Greer, to appoint Vice-Chairman
Thompson and Commissioner Barfield to the 2008 Board of Equalization and Review. Upon vote, the MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
OATHS OF OFFICE TO THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW ADMINISTERED
Chairman Davis administered the Oaths of Office for the Board of Equalization and Review to Vice-
Chairman Jason R. Thompson and Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, Jr.
Copies of the Oaths of Office are hereby incorporated as a part of the minutes and are contained in Exhibit
Book XXXI, Page 27.1.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Chairman Davis requested a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion:
Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Caster, to adjourn the meeting. Upon
vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Davis adjourned the meeting at 8:40 a.m.
