DRAFT CIP PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION Mr. Flechtner outlined the criteria and methodology used to analyze and rank capital projects. Projects were reviewed and analyzed in four categories: Compliance with regulatory requirements. Efficiency leading to future operating or capital savings. Capacity increases necessary for current or future flows. Growth in number of customers served. Data from the Asset Management system was vital to the decision making process, and a ten- year projected CIP was included in the presentation. Staff models rates in conjunction with CIP projections to understand the customer base. As more customers connect, the cost of projects can be spread out over the customer base. Mr. Vandermeyden reviewed the projects recommended for FY2016. Thirty projects are recommended for FY2016 totalling $18,835,000. Eighteen projects are rehabilitation or replacement of assets; five projects are for enhancement of efficiency, and seven projects will increase system capacity or add customers. Staff answered clarification questions and received feedback from Board members. The Board discussed pacing growth and building surpluses for pay-go capital projects. 1. CIP Work Session III. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Vandermeyden thanked Mr. McSmith and John Scott for their work on the Capital Improvement Plan and workshop materials. There was no further discussion, and Mr. Rivenbark moved to adjourn. Ms. Kusek seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. The Authority adjourned at 11:45 AM.
