The meeting was called to order by Chairman Allen Trask at 4:00 pm. Approval of Minutes: Allen Trask  A motion to accept the April 15, 2015 minutes was made, seconded and approved without opposition. Consideration of Absences: Allen Trask  David Ball, Dan Owen and Tucker Stevens indicated their inability to attend this meeting and have been excused. Advisory Chairman’s Report: Allen Trask  Mr. Trask reported that the county’s fiscal year ends on 6/30/15. The advisory board will elect new officers in July and nominations are being sought for chair, vice chair and secretary. CFM Associates Report: Mike Hudson  Mr. Hudson reported on behalf of the Associates board. Mr. Hudson welcomed and introduced Kitty Yerkes, new Director of Donor Relations.  Mr. Hudson reported that a total of $71,000 has been allocated to the Outdoor Learning Environment to date. $25,000 will go to support the Strategic Planning Process which will begin in the 2015-2016 fiscal year.  Museum Store Update – The Associates approved to buy a cart and locate it by the front desk to sell select items from the museum store. 2014-15 Board David Ball Stuart Borrett Gwen Brown Melissa Ivey Will Oden, III Dan Owen Tim Potter Nancy Pritchett Bill Terrell Allen Trask, III Rob Zapple NHC Commissioner Ex-officio: Mike Ryan CFMA, Inc. Cape Fear Museum Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Collections Committee Report: Nancy Pritchett  The Collections Committee recommends approval of the proposed list of deaccessions sent out in the board packet. A motion was made, seconded and approved without opposition to send the recommendation to the commissioners. Museum Update: Sheryl Mays  Ms. Mays reported that the History and Science of Alcohol event will take place tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in the museum. Door prizes, giveaways, and science experiments are all planned for the evening.  On Wednesday, June 17th at 4:30 pm, there will be the joint board meeting and annual membership meeting for the Cape Fear Museum. Invitations will be going out soon. Old Business/New Business: Allen Trask  Thursday, May 21st - History & Science of Alcohol, 7:00-10:00 pm  Friday, May 15th – Reflections in Black and White exhibit opens  Sunday, June 6 - Gallery Talk with Dr. J Davidson, Reflections in Black and White, 2 pm  Saturday, June 13th - Family Science Saturday: Make It Work!  Wednesday, June 17th – Annual Meeting Cape Fear Museum, 4:30 pm A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. With unanimous consent, the meeting ended at 5:10 pm. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 4:30 pm in the Williston Auditorium at the Cape Fear Museum.
