Risk Manager, Jennifer Stancil discussed that the New Hanover Board of Education will be hiring an internal Risk Manager and that NHC will no longer service their account as of 6/30/15. Risk Manager discussed that CFPUA will be putting their insurance Brokerage and Risk Management services out for RFP for the next fiscal year starting 7/1/15. Risk Manager and Advisory committee discussed the premium quotes for the renewal of Cape Fear Community College. All agreed that the quotes were good. Risk Manager advised the board about additional quotes and issues for CFCC as follows: Law Enforcement liability will soon be needed as the college will soon carry arms and ammunition as soon as the 6 officers complete training. This should be in the Spring of 2015; we will get quotes for that policy at that time. Currently the property quote is at a reduced rate of $.07 per 100 of value, we will be adding two newly constructed building once the Certificate of Occupancy is issued. One building is the new Fine Arts Center in downtown Wilmington and the other building is on the Surf City campus. The college is currently completing an application for a quote on Cyber Liability. We have received an additional quote, from BrickStreet, for the workers compensation coverage which includes USL&H coverage and law enforcement coverage which is not in the current quote from Zenith. The quote from BrickStreet is also approximately $10,000 less than Zenith quoted. George Chadwick stated that Moore & Johnson was a top notch agency and if they recommended BrickStreet, he would certainly trust their judgement. George Chadwick and Ron Woodruff asked the Risk Manager, Jennifer Stancil to look into how the workers compensation coverage would pay if an employee of CFCC were to be hurt while on a small vessel. Would the coverage be under the Jones Act if the vessel was one of the college’s smaller boats? Would the employee be covered under both the USL&H and the State workers compensation? Jennifer agreed to look into this and report back. Risk Manager updated the Board on the requested April 2015 renewal of New Hanover County insurance policies. At the current time, funds will not be available in the budget for this renewal. We will continue to renew on the fiscal year. Next meeting will be in February 12, 2015. Everyone agreed on this date. Risk Manager, Jennifer Stancil asked if there were any other items of business to be brought before the Committee. There were none and the meeting was adjourned.
