Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Williston Auditorium at the Cape Fear Museum. CFMA, Inc. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Stuart Borrett at 4:00 pm. Approval of Minutes: Stuart Borrett  A date correction was made to the minutes. A motion to accept the January 20, 2016 minutes was made, seconded and approved without opposition. Consideration of Absences: Stuart Borrett  Melissa Collins, Dan Owen, Tucker Stevens, Allen Trask indicated their inability to attend this meeting and have been excused. Advisory Chairman’s Report: Stuart Borrett  Dr. Borrett thanked everyone for purchasing museum memberships at the beginning of the year.  He also asked members to consider serving as a judge for the upcoming History Day. CFM Associates Report: Mike Hudson  Mr. Hudson discussed the upcoming exhibit, Starring Cape Fear, which will run April 21, 2016 - February 17, 2017.  Opening night will be a ticketed fundraising event hosted by the Associates.  He also asked board members to suggest community members who might be interested in serving on the Associates board. Collections Committee Report: Nancy Pritchett  Curator Barbara Rowe discussed preparations for the upcoming film exhibit.  Mrs. Pritchett brought forth a request from the Maritime Museum to borrow a 1935 men’s knit one-piece bathing suit. The artifact would be on loan for a little over a year. A motion was made and seconded to move forward with the loan. Museum Update: Sheryl Mays  Ms. Mays provided a snapshot of the FY17 budget submitted to the county. Old Business/New Business: Stuart Borrett  Dr. Borrett suggested a county-wide scavenger hunt to secure more artifacts for the museum. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. With unanimous consent, the meeting ended at 5:10 pm. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the Williston Auditorium at Cape Fear Museum.
