Museum. The meeting was called to order by Dan Owen at 4:00 pm. Approval of Minutes: could not be put forth due to lack of quorum. Collections Committee Report: Nancy Pritchett No recommendations put forth due to lack of quorum. Barb Rowe, Museum Curator introduced Heather Yenco, Museum Registrar who joined the Museum on September 15, 2015. Advisory Chairman’s Report: Sheryl Mays Ms. Mays reported for Stuart Borrett on the Community Engagement Committee work to review the guiding principal recommendation document as potential partnership framework for the Cape Fear Museum. A potential partnership list is to be drafted for discussion at the October Board Meeting. Strategic Planning: Bill Terrell Mr. Terrell noted that six proposal were under consideration. Two proposals selected for final consideration including “skype” interviews. Reference checks on the final firm to be conducted, contract negotiated and award made by end of October. Old Business/New Business: Sheryl Mays Bill Terrell asked if the Board could help while Ms. Mays without administrative support. Ms. Mays reported that an offer had been made and the position to be filled by October Board meeting date. Ms. Mays mentioned the 2015-2016 NC Grassroots funding budget includes $70,000. Thereafter, the funding will include a competitive grant process with a priority favoring tier 3 counties (New Hanover County is a tier 1 county). Ms. Pritchett suggested potential additional staff support within the county school system. Mr. Terrell suggested including Mr. Zapple in the process. The old Museum store space is in transition with discussions of both short term and long term usage under consideration. Meeting adjourned at 4:30 pm. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 4:00 pm in the Williston Auditorium at the Cape Fear Museum.
