AMENDMENT TO GRANT CONTRACT NUMBER 6893
BETWEEN
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
AND THE
NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
Pursuant to the General Terms and Conditions Governmental Entities Clause pertaining to Amendment of Grant
Contract Number 6893, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (the "Agency ") and New Hanover
County (the "Grantee ") mutually agree to this no -cost time extension from September 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018 to
allow the Grantee time to complete the required project. A revised Grant Timeline is included as Attachment A and is
incorporated as part of Grant Contract Number 6893.
THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAYABLE UNDER THIS GRANT CONTRACT REMAINS THE SAME.
It is the intent of this amendment to address the provision(s) noted only, and in no way should this amendment be construed
to further modify this grant contract. All other terms and conditions remain the same. Please indicate acceptance by your
signature below.

Grant Contract 6893 — New Hanover County Community Waste Reduction & Recycling Grant
Grant Contract 6893 — New Hanover County was approved for the expansion of HHW and
composting operations through the purchase of new equipment. To effectively reach the grant goals,
grant contract 6893 will need an extension. Below reflects the original approved timeline and the
approved revised timeline.
Grant Timeline
• September 26, 2016: Complete purchase of van for HHW program and initiate
mobile collections.
• October 31, 2016: Complete purchase, installation and permitting for composting
equipment and initiate composting pilot program.
• June 30, 2017: Prepare and submit final report to state.
Revised Grant Timeline
• September 26, 2016: Complete purchase of van for HHW program and initiate
mobile collections.
• October 31, 2017: Complete purchase, installation and permitting for composting
equipment and initiate composting pilot program.
• December 31, 2017: Prepare and submit final report to state.
