Welcome/Introductions
Request approval of the October meeting minutes (emailed 13 October 2017).
Current Efforts:
Wrightsville Beach (WB) Coastal Storm Damage Reduction (CSDR) Project
The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) FY18 CSDR contract was awarded to Weeks Marine
Inc.; to date, a construction schedule has not been provided.
The contracted volume is approximately 715,000 cubic yards placed.
The Validation Report’s DRAFT Project Management Plan (PMP) has been circulated for
comments, formal PMP execution is anticipated in the near term followed by a USACE request for
non-federal funds.
Carolina Beach (CB) CSDR Project, Beach Renourishment Evaluation Report (BRER)
The BRER’s PMP has been executed and the non-federal stakeholder’s share ($350K) has been
requested.
Kure Beach (KB) CSDR Project
Offshore Borrow Area B, USACE Geotechnical Assessment.
The vibracore contract bids were received last week.

The geophysical scope and funding are in USACE contracting.
o
The assessment results are intended to be used in KB’s FY19 CSDR plans and specifications.
o
Mason Inlet Relocation Project (MIRP)
The Monitoring and Engineering Contract scope, fee and schedule has been negotiated; the Board of
County Commissioners’ authorization will be requested in November.
Carolina Beach Inlet (CBI)
The next maintenance event is anticipated in early December.
A nine-day, hopper operation is anticipated with deposition in the inshore dredge material
management site (IDMMS).
