4:00 Call to Order
Welcome/Introductions
Request approval of the January meeting minutes (emailed 12Jan2018).
Current Efforts:
Wrightsville Beach (WB) FY18 Coastal Storm Damage Reduction (CSDR) Project
Weeks’ Marine has proposed their hydraulic cutterhead dredge McCaskill.
A pre-construction regulatory walkabout occurred on 11Jan2018.
Week’s tentative start is mid-February.
The Validation Study (CSDR post authorization change report) development is underway.
Carolina Beach (CB) CSDR Project, Beach Renourishment Evaluation Report (BRER)
A USACE teleconference was held on February 9th.
NHC, CB and Corps' reps from Wilmington, Atlanta and Washington DC participated.
The Wilmington District presented the BRER assumptions and process deliverables.
Kure Beach (KB) CSDR Project
Offshore Borrow Area B, USACE Geotechnical Assessment
Geophysical work is due this month (Contract work is ~78% complete).

Vibracore work due in March (coring, lab work, and report).
o
The assessment results are intended to be used in KB’s FY19 CSDR plans and specifications.
o
Mason Inlet Relocation Project (MIRP)
The MIRP’s 2018 project surveys began this month.
Sensitive habitat area surveys are complete.
The 1Mar2018 waterbird monitoring kickoff is on schedule.
Carolina Beach Inlet (CBI)
The next maintenance event is scheduled for early March.
A special purpose hopper dredge is anticipated.

Shoreline Mapping Program
The 2018 contracting is underway and schedules are being coordinated.
Refined Coastal Modeling
The WB modeling report is being finalized.
The CB DRAFT final modeling runs are in progress.
The KB modeling runs are also in progress.
