II.SurveyProjectwithUNCW.Suzannereportedthatfundingforthesurveyhasbeen approved,ironicallyonthelastdayofclassesatUNCW.Thereforewewillnotlaunch thesurveyuntiltheFall.Subcommitteediscussedpossiblenextstepsincluding havingaJulymeetingwithUNCWandfullcommitteediscussiononexpandingthe surveytoincludepublicperceptionofracerelations.WewillrequestthatallCRAC memberssubmitaplanfordissemination. III.Upcomingcommunityissues/eventsofinterest.JeffandKristenbothspokeof effortstohelppeopleaffectedbythesouthsidegrocerystorefirehaveaccessto othergrocerystoresviashuttleandtrolleyservice.Jeffreportedthatthedialogue groupsbetweenpoliceandresidentsisbeingdonequietlyandCRACwillprobably notbeabletoparticipate,andthattheeffortisnotfocusedonhavingconversations withstudents.LorireportedthatWalterSamuelsandFlorenceWarrenalongwith LoriattendedtheCHANGEgatheringhostedbyKennyHouseatStMarkEpiscopal Church.WewatchedadocumentarycalledParadisePrincipalbyWilmington residentBrianGrimmabouthowoureducationsystemimpactschildrenofcolor. IV.BrainstormtopicsforupcomingCommitteemeetings.WediscussedtheResiliency Taskforce,AdverseChildhoodExperienceandhowtheWilmingtoncommunityis workingtoraiseawarenessoftoxicstressandtraumatoallindividualsandhow resiliencecanhelpmitigatetheimpactofthesestressorsonchildrenandadults.Jeff suggestedthatweobtainacopyoftheResiliencyfilmandshareitwiththefull committee.AmyHortonofTrilliumhasbeeninvitedtoattendtheMay22meeting todiscusstheResiliencyTaskforce.
