2018-07-05 Agenda Review NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BOOK 34 AGENDA REVIEW MEETING, JULY 5, 2018 PAGE 158 ASSEMBLY The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners met for Agenda Review on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Harrell Conference Room at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. Members present: Chairman Woody White; Vice-Chairman Skip Watkins; Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, Jr.; and Commissioner Patricia Kusek. Commissioner Rob Zapple was absent. Staff present: County Manager Chris Coudriet; County Attorney Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk to the Board Kymberleigh G. Crowell. Chairman White called the Agenda Review meeting to order and announced that the purpose of the meeting is to review and discuss the agenda items for the July 9, 2018 Regular Meeting with discussions as noted: Regular Item 8. Appointment of Voting Delegate to the 2018 North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Annual Conference. Chairman White stated by general consensus of the Board, the voting delegate for the NCACC Annual Conference would be Commissioner Barfield. He requested this item to be moved from the Regular Agenda to the Consent Agenda. Regular Item 12. Public Hearing Rezoning Request (Z18-05) – Request by Design Solutions on Behalf of the Property Owner, John Dieffenbauch et al, to Rezone Approximately 4.2 Acres of Land Located at the 7300 block of Mason Landing Road from R-20S, Residential District, to (CZD) R-20, Conditional Residential, in Order to Construct a Performance Residential Development. Regarding an email received from the adjoining property owner, Chairman White stated that the adjoining property owner has been in touch with Cindee Wolf of Design Solutions and there may or may not be an agreement for an additional condition of approval for the rezoning. The planning department will provide an update at Monday’s meeting regarding the status of the agreement to maintain a buffer between the development and the property. Current Planner Brad Schuler stated the petitioner can present the agreement as part of the request and the Board can agree to it by approving it.
