THE REQUIRED INSPECTIONS ON THE PROJECT.1.CONTRACTOR TO REVIEW THE GEOTECHNICAL REPORT BY ECS . FOLLOW RECOMMENDATIONSFOR EXCAVATION, GRADING, AND BACKFILL. IF NOT ADDRESSED IN THE REPORT THEN FOLLOWTHE RECOMMENDATIONS IN NOTES 2-4 BELOW.2. ANY UNDERCUTTING IN GOOD SOIL SHALL BE REPLACED AND THE REPLACEMENT MATERIALSHALL BE COMPACTED TO NINETY-FIVE (95) PERCENT OF MAXIMUM DENSITY OBTAINED ATOPTIMUM MOISTURE CONTENT, AS DETERMINED BY THE ASTM D 698 STANDARD PROCTORTEST METHOD. IN THE EVENT THAT MATERIAL ENCOUNTERED AT PIPE GRADE, SUBGRADE OFPARKING OR ROADWAYS AND SUBGRADE OF BUILDING FOUNDATIONS IS FOUND TO BE SOFT,SPONGY, OR IN ANY OTHER WAY UNSUITABLE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THEGEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY. SUCH UNSUITABLE MATERIAL SHALL BE REMOVEDTO A DEPTH AS SPECIFIED BY THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER AND REPLACED WITH A MINIMUMOF SIX (6) INCHES OF STONE, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER.3.BEFORE BACKFILLING IS COMMENCED OVER PIPES AND OTHER INSTALLATIONS, EARTH FILLSHALL BE SOLIDLY TAMPED AROUND AND ABOVE THE PIPE TO A DEPTH OF ONE (1) FOOTABOVE THE TOP OF THE PIPE. CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO PREVENT ANY DISTURBANCE TO THEPIPE OR DAMAGE TO NEWLY MADE JOINTS. THE FILLING OF THE TRENCH SHALL BE CARRIEDOUT SIMULTANEOUSLY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PIPES IN SUCH A MANNER THAT INJURIOUS SIDEPRESSURES DO NOT OCCUR.4.THE MATERIAL FOR BACKFILLING SHALL BE FREE FROM ALL PERISHABLE AND OBJECTIONABLEMATERIALS. BEFORE PLACING ANY BACKFILL, ALL RUBBISH, FORM, BLOCKS, WIRES OR OTHERUNSUITABLE MATERIAL SHALL BE REMOVED FROM EXCAVATION.
