MEMORANDUM

SUBJ: Abatements 8 Refunds
The following Senior Citizens request their taxes be
refunded as they were not aware of the requirement to file
application for relief during the month of January each year:
1. Bessie Fishburn $194.00 (1972 8 1973)
2. Edith 0. Walker 102.05 (1972 8 1973)
Request the following taxes be abated as the taxpayers
reported incorrect information:
1. Henry Bethea 15.12 Refund
2. Capps Construction Co. 16.67
Request the following taxes be released as these
individuals do not reside within the city or town limits,
or the personal property is located in the County:
1. J. D. Johnson 79.38
2. Ralph H. Davis 58.05
3. Sassers Auto Sales 128.65
Request the following taxes be abated as they were
double listed:
1. Charity P. Sidbury 236.26 (1963-1973)
2. Thomas J. Head, Jr. 67.07
Request this item be placed on the agenda of the County
Commissioners' meeting of July 1, 1974.

Interim Budget Ordinance for the
Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 1974
Be it ordained by the New Hanover Board of County
Commissioners:
1. That pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes ch.
159-69, appropriations are hereby made for the purposes of paying
salaries, debt service payments, and the usual ordinary expenses
of the County of New Hanover for the interval between the
beginning of the budget year on July 1, 1974, and the adoption
of the budget ordinance for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 1974,
and ending June 30, 1975•
2. That expenditures for the above mentioned purposes under
this ordinance be made at the same rates and levels as were
provided in the Budget Ordinance for the Fiscal Year beginning
July', 1973, and ending June 30, 1974; provided., however, debt
service payments and other contractual obligations shall be met
at the rates and levels provided for in said contracts or as
required by law.
3. That all appropriations made hereunder shall be charged
to the proper appropriations in the Budget Ordinance for Fiscal
Year 1974-75 when adopted.
4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
