Re: Phase I (Mitigation)
Sara Warmuth
RE: Cape Fear Museum
Jarvis Property Restoration inspected the water damage located at the Cape Fear Museum Upon completing
the walk through it was determined that the roof system failed in multiple locations within the Museum caused by
the high winds from Hurricane Florence, due to the damaged roof, heavy rains flooded multiple locations thru -out
the Museum, affecting the main entrance, common area halls, classroom, and other areas thru -out the Museum.
Due to the nature of the loss (Category 3 contaminated water) it is recommended all wet porous materials be
removed as part of the cleanup process per IICRC standards.
Note: Due to elevated humidity within the Museum Microbial growth has been discovered within
the electrical room, pipe wrap and artifacts. It is recommended that an Indoor Air Quality
Hygienist is obtained to complete proper air testing and proper sampling, in -order to identify the
level of cross contamination and what additional cleaning that may be necessary.
The following areas have been identified:
• Basement area- Concrete flooring, drywall walls, elevator pit, and pipe wrap.
• I" floor offices- Wet carpet, drywall walls and ceiling tiles.
2nd floor offices- Wet carpet, drywall walls and ceiling tiles.
• I" floor display- Wet carpet, drywall walls and ceiling tiles.
•
2 "d floor display- Wet carpet, hardwood flooring, drywall walls and ceilings.

established that will outline the definitive sequence of events and their corresponding time frames for completion

is critical to the successful, timely, and cost - effective completion of the work. The sequence in which the work will
be performed will be discussed following the determination of the Critical Path.
