I. Call to Order
Owen Wexler called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m. A quorum was not established.

III. Old Business
Meet & Greet
A short debrief was given regarding the Meet & Greet at Creekwood. Mr. Wexler suggested that
the C-RAC request from WAVE a timeline for when the bus stop will be added to ensure
accountability. Mr. Wexler suggested that a C-RAC member serve on the WAVE board or begin
attending their meetings as well as other boards that impact the community.
Crisis Plan
It was discussed that based on the feedback thus far, the Community Crisis Plan should move
forward and the sub-committee recommend it for approval and adoption at the C-RAC’s June

25 meeting. The document will be revised as needed.
NAACP Legal Redress Committee Collaboration
It was discussed that at the last meeting Rev. Davis pondered how the sub-committee could
collaborate with the NAACP Legal Redress Committee. It was suggested that Rev. Davis and Ms.
Thomas meet to come up with a recommendation.
IV. New Business
PURPOSE: The committee was established by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners and Wilmington City Council for
the purpose of addressing community issues involving prejudice or discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, creed or
religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition; informing the Appointing Authorities and other
organizations of their findings; and making recommendations, in an advisory capacity, to the Appointing Authorities and other
organizations, as necessary.

VII. Action Items & Next Steps
Several action items were discussed:
Ask Dahria Kianpour to remind C-RAC members to review the Community Crisis Plan

prior to the June 25 meeting (Ms. Thomas)
Contact Rev. Davis to discuss collaboration with the NAACP Legal Redress Committee
(Ms. Thomas)
Provide report and suggest membership on or attendance at WAVE board meetings and
other community meetings (Mr. Wexler)
Add Audrey Hart from the New Hanover County Disaster Coalition to the email list at
audrey@newhanoverdisastercoalition.org (Ms. Thomas and Ms. Kianpour)
