ASSEMBLY
The District Board of Commissioners of the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District
met in Regular Session on Monday, December 4, 2000, at 6:40 P.M. in the Assembly Room of the
New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: Chairman Robert G. Greer; Vice-Chairman Charles R. Howell;
District Commissioner Buzz Birzenieks; District Commissioner William A. Caster; District
Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr.; County Manager Allen O’Neal; County Attorney Wanda M. Copley;
and Clerk to the Board Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Greer called the meeting to order and called for a motion to approve the minutes.
Motion:
District Commissioner Caster MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Birzenieks,
to approve the minutes of the Regular Meetings of November 13, 2000 and November 27, 2000 as
presented by the Clerk to the District Board. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
MEETING RECESSED
Chairman Greer recessed the meeting at 6:45 P.M.
MEETING RECONVENED TO REGULAR SESSION
County Attorney Copley reconvened the meeting at 7:39 P.M. to preside over the election
of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the Water and Sewer District.
Members present were: District Commissioner Julia Boseman, District Commissioner William
A. Caster; District Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr. District Commissioner Robert G. Greer; District
Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett; County Manager Allen O’Neal; County Attorney Wanda Copley;
and Clerk to the District Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE NEW HANOVER
COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
County Attorney Copley opened the floor to receive nominations for Chairman of the Water
and Sewer District for the ensuing year.
District Commissioner Caster nominated District Commissioner Greer to serve as Chairman.
The nomination was seconded by District Commissioner Davis.
There being no further nominations, County Attorney Copley declared the nominations
closed.
Vote:
Upon vote, District Commissioner Robert G. Greer was unanimously elected to serve as
Chairman of the Water and Sewer District for the ensuing year.

County Attorney Copley opened the floor to receive nominations for the Vice-Chairman of
the Water and Sewer District.
District Commissioner Caster nominated District Commissioner Pritchett. The nomination
was seconded by Chairman Greer.
There being no further nominations, County Attorney Copley declared the nominations
closed.
Vote:
Upon vote, District Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett was unanimously elected to serve as
Vice-Chairman of the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District for the ensuing year.
Members of the District Board congratulated Chairman Greer and Vice-Chairman Pritchett
for being elected to serve in these positions.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Chairman Greer asked if anyone from the public would like to present an item that was not
listed on the Regular Agenda.
No items or remarks were received.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Greer called for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion:
District Commissioner Caster MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Davis, to
adjourn the meeting. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Greer adjourned the meeting at 7:51 P.M.
