RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, Elton G, Tucker was sworn in as District Court Judge for the Fifth Judicial
District covering both New Hanover and Pender counties in December 1983; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Tucker's career as a lawyer and judicial official has spanned over
three decades and having graduated from N.C. State University in 1967 with a Chemical
Engineering degree and then graduating from Wake Forest Law School in 1973, he
passed the bar and begin to practice law in New Hanover County for ten years until being
sworn in as District Court Judge in 1983; and
WHEREAS, having served on various boards and committees such as being the
Chairman ofthe Board of Directors for the UNC-W Alumni Association in 1980, a
member of the N.C. State Bar and the Fifth Judicial District Bar; and
WHEREAS, Judge Elton G. Tucker has also served the community through various
clubs and organizations such a$ the Arab Shrine Club which he joined in 1981; he was
President of the Arab Shrine Club from 1984 to 1985; he was raised to a third degree
Mason in 1980; he was President of the Wilmington Sertoma in 1980 and is currently
President of the Pender County Shrine Club; and
WHEREAS, Judge Elton G. Tucker served the peopl<:: of New Hanover and Pender
Counties presiding over various types of trials including Juvenile, District, and Civil for
over 21 years, and having been designated Family Court Judge in Pender County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Hanover County Board of
Commissioners does hereby express its thanks and congratulations to the Honorable
Elton G. Tucker upon his retirement after serving the people of New Hanover and Pender
counties for 21 years.

RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of Section 18B-700 of the North
Carolina General Statutes, the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County, at its
regular meeting on December 6, 2004, does hereby exempt from the bond requirement of
said Section 18B-700 any member of the New Hanover County ABC Board who does not
handle Board funds, including but not limited to the Chairman of the New Hanover County
ABC Board.

RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY'
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 109 of the North Carolina General Statutes, the
Board of County Commissioners conducts an annual review of public official bonds;
WHEREAS, said bonds have been reviewed by the County Attorney and found to
be in full force and to be in proper format.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of County Commissioners does hereby resolve and
approve the Surety Bond for the Finance Officer, Clerk of Court, Sheriff, Register of Deeds,
and Tax Collector. Pursuant to Section 162-8 of the North Carolina General Statutes, the
Sheriff's Bond is to be set in the total amount of Twenty-Five Thousand ($25,000.00)
Dollars. This designation of approval is hereby incorporated within the respective bond as
if set out in its entirety on the face thereof.
