RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, New Hanover County recognizes the importance of protecting the water
quality in all of our creeks, sounds, rivers, lakes and streams; and,
WHEREAS, New Hanover County has a vision of and commitment to the quality oflife
and the future of our community; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County desires to ensure sustainable coastal communities,
providing for the needs of the present without compromising our ability to meet the needs of
future generations; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County recognizes the importance and special quality of the
coastal environment to our community; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County recognizes the work of the Tidal Creeks Program
and wishes to expand the reach ofthis program to include all of the County's water bodies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the New Hanover County Board of
County Commissioners that the Tidal Creeks Watershed Management Advisory Board
reconstituted as the Watershed Management Advisory Board so that it may expand its water
quality enhancement programs to all the waters of New Hanover County And, further, be it
resolved that New Hanover County will budget $5,000 for the Advisory board to use for
administrative purposes.

RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, New Hanover County wishes to establish the Cape Fear Stewardship Development
Awards Program to recognize exemplary conservation efforts in land development; and,
WHEREAS, New Hanover County has a vision of and commitment to the quality of life and the
future of our community; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County recognizes the special importance of our coastal environment
to our community; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County encourages innovative efforts to reward development that
voluntarily exemplifies outstanding stewardship of natural resources while meeting the growth needs of
the community; and
WHEREAS, participation in the Stewardship Development A ward Program will help to foster
better, more ecologically sensitive development in the Cape Fear Region;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the New Hanover County Board of
Commissioners authorizes New Hanover County to enter into an agreement with the Wilmington-Cape
Fear Home Builders Association, the Wilmington Regional Association ofRealtors@, the City of
Wilmington, Brunswick County, Pender County, the Soil and Water Conservation District and others who
may elect to join, whereby New Hanover County would participate in the Lower Cape Fear
Stewardship Development Awards Program under the following terms and conditions:
] New Hanover County agrees to:
a) Provide staff and necessary administrative costs to help implement the Lower Cape Fear
Stewardship Development Awards Program on eligible lands within the boundaries of the region
within New Hanover County
b) Assist landowners in completing the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Awards Program
application, and any required attachments
c) Assist landowners, as applicable, with the completion of agreement forms
d) Such other terms and conditions as the Board of Commissioners, the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship
Development Awards Program partnership and the Planning Director deem necessary and appropriate
