ASSEMBLY
The District Board of Commissioners of the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District
met in Regular Session on Monday, June 16, 1997, at 11:56 A.M. in the Assembly Room of the New
Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: District Commissioners Buzz Birzenieks; Ted Davis, Jr.; Robert G.
Greer; Vice-Chairman Charles R. Howell; Chairman William A. Caster; County Manager, Allen
O’Neal; County Attorney, Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk to the Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Caster called the meeting to order.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Chairman Caster announced that time had been reserved for any one from the public to
present an item that was not listed on the Regular Agenda. He requested all remarks to be limited
to three minutes.
No items were presented.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion:
District Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Birzenieks
to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 2, 1997, as presented by the Clerk to the
District Board. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
ADOPTION OF FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE NEW
HANOVER COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
Motion:
District Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Birzenieks
to adopt the FY 1997-98 Budget Ordinance as presented. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
A copy of the Budget Ordinance is hereby incorporated as part of the minutes and is contained
in W&S Exhibit Book II, Page 19.
ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PUBLIC DEDICATION OF GORDON
ACRES DRIVE FOR WATER AND SEWER PURPOSES
County Engineer, Wyatt Blanchard, requested the Board to adopt a Resolution of Acceptance
for Gordon Acres Drive as recorded in Deed Book 1180, Page 1109 in the New Hanover County
Registry. He reported the easements would be needed to construct the Ogden Interceptor.
Motion:
District Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Birzenieks
to adopt the Resolution of Acceptance for public dedication of Gordon Acres Drive

and authorize the Chairman to execute the necessary documents. Upon vote, the MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

District Commissioner Birzenieks MOVED, SECONDED by District Commissioner Greer
to adjourn. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Caster adjourned the meeting at 12:05 P.M.
