ASSEMBLY
The District Board of Commissioners of the New Hanover County
Water & Sewer District met in Regular Session on Monday, May 2,
1994, at 9:46 P.M. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County
Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: District Commissioners William A.
Caster; Robert G. Greer; William E. Sisson, Jr.; Vice-Chairman
Sandra Barone; Chairman E. L. Mathews, Jr.; County Manager, Allen
O'Neal; Assistant County Attorney, Kemp Burpeau; and Clerk to the
District Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Mathews called the meeting to order.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Chairman Mathews inquired as to whether anyone from the
general public would like to present an item not listed on the
Regular Agenda. No items were presented.
Vice-Chairman Barone inquired as to whether the one-half cent
sales tax, which has been transferred to the Environmental
Management Fund for the past two years, will be transferred back to
the Water & Sewer District?
County Manager O'Neal reported the portion of funds from the
one-half cent sales tax not designated for education will be
transferred back to the Water & Sewer District.
Vice-Chairman Barone stated the purpose for asking this
question was to the let record reflect that funds from the one
half-cent sales tax will be transferred back to the Water & Sewer
District, which is badly in need of additional revenue.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion: Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chairman Barone
to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 18, 1994, as
presented by the Clerk to the District Board. Upon vote, the
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion: Commissioner Caster MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Greer
to adjourn. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Mathews adjourned the meeting at 9:48 P.M.
