ASSEMBLY
The District Board of Commissioners of the New Hanover County
Water & Sewer District met in Regular Session on Monday, September
19, 1994, at 11:46 A.M. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover
County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North
Carolina.
Members present were: District Commissioners William A.
Caster; Robert G. Greer; William E. Sisson, Jr.; Vice-Chairman
Sandra Barone; Chairman E. L. Mathews, Jr.; Assistant County
Manager, Dave Weaver, County Attorney, Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk
to the District Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Mathews called the meeting to order.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Chairman Mathews inquired as to whether anyone from the
general public would like to present an item. No items were
presented.
District Commissioner Sisson commented on the recent sewer
overflow and reported there is a group of people who are very
critical of the Sewer System and often misinformed. He requested
the County Engineer to furnish a printout or report to the District
Commissioners that will show the number of failures over a 3-year
period and the action taken to correct these problems. This type
of report will provide factual information to the District Board as
well as to concerned citizens.
Consensus: It was the consensus of the District Board for the
County Engineer to forward a report as requested by District
Commissioner Sisson.
County Engineer Blanchard reported he would be glad to furnish
a report; however, the recent sewer overflow was the first failure
since the telemetry system has been in place.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion: District Commissioner Caster MOVED, SECONDED by District
Commissioner Sisson to adjourn. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Mathews adjourned the meeting at 11:56 A.M.
