ASSEMBLY
The District Board of Commissioners of the New Hanover County
Water & Sewer District met in Regular Session on Monday, April 5,
1993, at 10:15 P.M. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County
Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: District Commissioners William A.
Caster; Robert G. Greer; William E. Sisson, Jr.; Vice-Chairman
Sandra Barone; Chairman E. L. Mathews, Jr.; County Manager, Allen
O'Neal; County Attorney, Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk to the District
Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Mathews called the meeting to order.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion: District Commissioner Sisson MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-
Chairman Barone to approve the minutes of the Regular Meetings of
February 15, 1993; March 8, 1993; and March 15, 1993, as presented
by the Clerk to the District Board. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Chairman Mathews inquired as to whether anyone from the
general public would like to present an item not listed on the
Regular Agenda. No items were presented.
APPROVAL OF CONTRACT #92-0306 WITH T. A. WOODS COMPANY FOR
INSTALLATION OF ODOR CONTROL PIPING SYSTEM AND APPROVAL OF BUDGET
AMENDMENT #93-0171
County Engineer, Wyatt Blanchard, reported on mailing request
for proposals to six contractors for installation of an odor
control piping system in the grit chamber at the Bradley Creek pump
station. The proposed system is necessary due to the flow from the
Ogden area. One proposal was received from T. A. Woods Company in
the amount of $28,595. Staff recommends award of the contract to
T. A. Woods and approval of the accompanying Budget Amendment.
Motion: Vice-Chairman Barone MOVED, SECONDED by District
Commissioner Sisson to award the contract to T. A. Woods Company in
the amount of $28,595, authorize the Chairman to execute the
contract documents, and approve the following Budget Amendment.
Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Purpose: To appropriate Sewer Operating Fund/fund balance in the
amount of $28,595 to install the odor control piping system in the
grit chamber at the Bradley Creek pump station.
A copy of the contract is on file in the Legal Department.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion: District Commissioner Greer MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-
Chairman Barone to adjourn. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Mathews adjourned the meeting 10:20 P.M.
