District Commissioner Retchin commented on the need to provide
relief to our senior citizens with low incomes, and recommended
adoption of a $4.00 per month deduction in the sewer user charge
for each customer who qualifies for the property tax exemption.
After review of persons receiving the homestead exemption for
property taxes, there are approximately 96 customers who would

would decrease by $4,608 per year.

Commissioner Mathews to approve the $4.00 per month deduction in
the sewer bill to only those customers who qualify for the
homestead tax exemption. The floor was opened for discussion.
