HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-06-05 RM Exhibits RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY WHEREAS, the use of the Electrostatic Precipitators is required in the routine operation of the WASTEC Facility; AND WHEREAS, replacement parts are needed to complete maintenance repairs to the existing Electrostatic Precipitators; AND WHEREAS, McGill Air Clean Corporation holds all the drawings and specifications to the required replacement parts; AND WHEREAS, General Statute 143-129(f) allows an exemption from formal bidding for purchase contracts when a needed product is available from only one source of supply; AND WHEREAS, the W ASTEC staff has explored options and has been able to find the replacement parts only from the manufacturer; AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in Account No. 700-485-4195-3920-32 to cover this contract, contract amount of thirty-nine thousand five hundred seventy-three dollars ($39,573 00); AND WHEREAS, the Environmental Management Director, the Finance Director, and the County Manager recommend that the contract be awarded to McGill Air Clean Corporation, the sole source for these parts; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that contract # 00-0415 for Electrostatic Precipitator parts for the W ASTEC Facility of the Environmental Management Department, be awarded to McGill Air Clean Corporation in the amount of thirty-nine thousand five hundred seventy-three dollars ($39,573.00); and that the County is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract, contract form to be approved by the County Attorney . , This 5th day of June, 2000. (SEAL) 2J~O~ Chairman, Board of County Commissioners ATTEST , ~ . ~\/~- Cle to the Board RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance Department at 4'00 p.m., on the 17th day of May, 2000, at the County Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following bids were received for elevated bleachers for the Parks Department, Bid # 00-0346 Peggs Recreation & Architectural Products, Inc. $35,293 76 $38,820.00 $52,380.00 Cunningham Associates, Inc. Lumina Builders AND WHEREAS, the bid from Peggs Recreation & Architectual Products, Inc. did not include the required installation and took exception to the County's payment terms and therefore the bid was deemed nonresponsive and was not considered; AND WHEREAS, the Parks Director, the Finance Director and the County Manager recommend that the contract be awarded to Cunningham Associates, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina, the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of thirty-eight thousand eight hundred twenty dollars ($38,820.00); AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in Account No. 315-612-821 0-7300-6300-17-PARKS27G to cover this contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that the contract for elevated bleachers for the Parks Department, Bid # 00-0346 be awarded to Cunningham Associates, Inc. in the amount of thirty-eight thousand eight hundred twenty dollars ($38,820.00); and that the County is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract # 00-0346, contract form to be approved by the County Attorney This 5th day of June, 2000 (SEAL) 1J~ (J ~ Chairman, Board of County Commissioners STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN THE MATTER OF ASSIGNING STREET HOUSE NUMBERS ORDER It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the assignment of house numbers on Spring Peeper Lane, located in the Harnett Township, numerical range 8000-8199 WHEREAS, ready and accurate identification of developed property is important for the delivery of general County services, for the operation of commercial enterprises, for the response of emergency and public safety vehicles, and for the convenience of the general public; and WHEREAS, a comprehensive and systematic property numbering system is an efficient means of identifying property within the County; and WHEREAS, such a system will promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of New Hanover County THEREFORE, it further appearing that a,public hearing was held on the 5th day of June, 2000, at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not assigning house numbers would be in the public interest, and it further appearing that notice of said hearing was prominently posted in at least two (4) locations along said street, that notice of the time, place and subject matter of the hearing was prominent1Y posted at the County Courthouse and published in a newspaper of general circulation in the County NOW THEREFORE, it is ordained and decreed that the above house number assignments be made. It is further ordered that a copy of this ordinance be transmitted to the Postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, to the Board of Transportation, Sheriffs 911 Dispatcher and to any city within five miles of said road in accordance with N C. He BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ORDINA1~CE 07 G It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the renaming of Oak Avenue "B" to Spring Peeper Lane located in the Porter's Neck Community and referred in Map Book 4 page 28, and Map Book 22 page 45 ( see attached map )of the New Hanover County Registry and it further appearing that a public hearing was held on Monday, June 5, 2000, at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not the renaming would be in the public interest; and it further appearing that notice of said hearing was transmitted to all adjoining resident owners and prominently posted in at least two (4) locations along said road, and published in the Star News local newspaper, and the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that said road in New Hanover County should be renamed and the renaming of same is in the public interest, the description of which is delineated on the attached exhibit. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AND DECREED that the above described road , , is hereby renamed to Spring Peeper Lane IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a copy of this ordinance be recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of New Hanover County, North Carolina, and that notice of the action taken by the Board of County Commissioners be tran~mitted to the postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, the North Carolina Board of Transportation and to any city within five (5) miles of said road in accordance with N C.
