2000-08-21 RM Exhibits NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION WHEREAS, New Hanover County currently pays the City of Wilmington one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) per fiscal year for capital improvements to Legion Stadium; and WHEREAS, the Legion Stadium Commission approved a five million five hundred thousand dollar ($5,500,000) master plan to renovate Legion Stadium and associated facilities; and WHEREAS, New Hanover County agrees to pay for one half of the debt service in an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) per fiscal year for twenty (20) years; and WHEREAS, this payment will take the place of the current annual payment of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000); and WHEREAS, the effective date of this change in payment is the fiscal year beginning July 200 1 and ending June 30, 2002; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners that effective July 1,2001, the current annual payment of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) made by New Hanover County to the City of Wilmington for capital improvements on Legion Stadium shall be increased to pay one half of the debt service for the Master Plan to renovate Legion Stadium and associated facilities with an annual paymentto be made for twenty (20) years in an amount notto exceed two hundred fifty thousand ($250,000) subject to the following conditions: I) Continued equal representation on the Legion Stadium Commission with regard to policies, usage and all matters related to the continual operations; 2) Prominent and equal signage to that of the City on all signs, logos, letterheads and other methods of pro motion; and 3) Guarantee of no disparity in terms of access, use and charges to New Hanover County residents from initiation of the agreement and in perpetuity I .1 I i j 1 I I J I j I j 1 ! 1 .'=~_'='=->"r~-.;!'Z:""'=":='''''~=:'''~'JL:.:.;''='"''''.>T<ri=,''-x.'''''''~'=:''''~~'.tr.:l:.~1ll'102Q=.....=-=.::;,"-'="-~-u...~~""'l:"'<:':.- Adopted this the 21" day of August, 2000. Hooker Higher Education Facilities Financing Bond Referendum package approved by the General Assembly will assist our community colleges and universities in meeting their significant facility needs; and WHEREAS, this bond package, subject to voter approval on the November 2000 ballot deserves rightful consideration by the citizens of this State; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED that the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners pledges to work to educate and inform the citizens of our State about the importance of the Michael K.
