WHEREAS, the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office (herein called the "Agency") (Tne Applicant Agency) has completed an application contract for traffic safety funding; and that the New Hanover County (The Gove'rning Body of the.Agency) Board of Commissioners (herein called the "Governing Body") has thoroughly considered the problem identified and has reviewed the project as described in the contract; THEREFORE, NOW BE IT RESOLVED BY THE New Hanover County Board of 'Commissionel1l'J OPEN (Governing Body) MEETING ASSEMBLED IN THE CITY OF Wilmington ,NORTH CAROLINA, THIS 21st DAY OF February , 20~, AS FOllOWS: That the project referenced above is in the best interest of the Governing Body and the general public; and 2. That Robert G. Greer, Chairman (Name and Title of Representative) is authorized to file, on behalf of the Governing Body, an application contract in the form prescribed by the Governor's Highway Safety ProgramJor federal funding in the amount of $ 62,453.. 00 (Federal Dollar Request) to be made to the Governing .Body to assist in defraying the cost of the project described in the contract application; and 3. That the Governing Body has formally appropriated the cash contribution of $ 24,481.00 as . (Local Cash Appropriation) required by the project contract; and 4 That the Project Director designated in the application contract shall furnish or make arrangement for other appropriate persons to furnish such information, data, documents and reports as required by the contract, if approved, or as may be required by the Governor's Highway Safety Program; and 5. That certified copies of this resolution be included as part of the contract referenced above; and 6. Lfo:- A RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of New Hanover has introduced bond orders authorizing the issuance of $123,000,000 School Bonds and $27,000,000 Community College Bonds and such bond orders, when adopted, and the indebtedness to be incurred by the issuance of such bonds and the tax to be levied for the payment of such bonds will be submitted to the voters of the County at the election to be held on May 10, 2005 for their approval or disapproval in order to comply with the Constitution and laws of North Carolina; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to provide for absentee voting at such election and to provide that notice of the availability of absentee ballots be given timely to voters in the County; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of New Hanover, as follows: (1) The questions whether the qualified voters ofthe County of New Hanover shall approve or disapprove (a) the indebtedness to be incurred by the issuance of the bonds of the County authorized by said bond orders, which indebtedness shall be secured by a pledge of the County's faith and credit, (b) the levy of a tax for the payment thereof, and (c) said bond orders, when adopted, shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said County at an election to be held in said County on May 10, 2005 (2) The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to publish on or about March 17, 2005 a notice that absentee ballots will be available for use at said election. A RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, the bond orders entitled, "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $123,000,000 SCHOOL BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER" and "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $27,000,000 COMMUNITY COLLEGE BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER" have been introduced at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on February 21, 2005 and the Board desires to provide for the holding of a public hearing thereon and the submission of a statement of debt in connection therewith as required by The Local Government Bond Act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of New Hanover, as follows: (I) The public hearings upon said bond orders shall be held on the 14th day of March, 2005, at 2 o'clock, P.M., Room 301 of the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, in Wilmington, North Carolina. (2) The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed to cause a copy of each bond order to be published with a notice of such hearing in the form prescribed by law in a qualified newspaper no fewer than six days prior to each such public hearing. (3) The County's Finance Officer is hereby directed to file with the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, prior to publication of the bond orders with the notices of such public hearings, a statement setting forth the debt incurred or to be incurred, the assessed value of property subject to taxation by the County and the net debt of the County (SEAL) /flJlJ~r Robert G.
