HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/14/19371 REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING, BOARD OF HEALTH HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD JANUARY 14, 1937 Present: Chairman Addison Hewlett, Mayor Walter H. Blair, Mr. H. M. Roland, Dr. J. C. Wessell, Dr. W. Houston Moore, and Dr. H. L. Keith. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. The Health Officer presented the monthly reports. This being the January meeting of the odd year, the ex- officio members appointed Dr. J. C. Wessell, Dr. W. Houston Moore, and Dr. H. L. Keith the professional members of the Board. The Board then reappointed the entire personnel of the department with the exception of the plumbing inspector, which position was lett open pending action of the State Legislature. Mr. Kermon appeared before the Board and discussed his status as plumbing inspector for a number ot years. He also discussed fees, salary, and automobile expense. A number ot plumbers appeared before the Board and all of them who expressed themselves requested that Mr. Kermon be retained as plumbing inspector. The Board instructed the Health Officer to confer with Representative Hobbs and see if he would consider changing his proposed Bill so as not to specify that the plumbing inspector should be a plumber, leave the determination of the salary to the Board, and permit the Board to use the inspector for purposes other than inspecting plumbing it same did not take up all of his time, or, would he consider instead of his Bill just repealing the Act ot the 1935 Legislature regarding fees and salary.
