REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD
MAY 13, 1938
Present: Chairman Addison Hewlett, Mayor Thomas E. Cooper,
Dr. J. C. Wessell, Dr. W. Houston Moore, and Dr. H. L. Keith.
Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
The Health Officer presented the monthly reports.
Mrs. Buckley of Mercer Avenue, appeared before the Board and
asked that she be allowed to collect garbage from private homes
within the city limits as in the past. After explaining the purpose
of the recent garbage collecting ordinance, the Board declined to
make an exception in her case.
After a general discussion of the fact that Dr. Fulenwider
had been charged with intoxication on the afternoon of May 5, it
was moved by Mayor Cooper, seconded by Dr. Wessell, that Dr. Fulenwider
be allowed to continue his duties to July 1, 1938, provided, he give
a written resignation to become effective immediately if he at any
time become under the influence of alcohol, and then (July 1, 1938)
he be employed for another twelve months on the same basis- that is, his
resignation to become effective at any time he becomes under the influence
of alcohol. Carried.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.
