REGULAR NONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEAL'IB
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD
AUGUST 15, 1951
Present: Mr. Addison Hewlett, Chairman; Mayor E. L. White, Dr. J. C. Knox,
Dr. J. C. Wessell and Dr. James H. Smith.
The minutes of the previous meeting were not read.
The monthly reports were given to the Board members.
A delegation of plumbers composed of Mr. Lacy Goodyear, Mr. Allie Moore, Sr.,
Mr. Jimmie Yopp and Mr. C. C. Davis and Mr. R. A. Burnett; and a t;roup of
interested citizens consistint; of Mr. Fred Willetts, Mr. Emmett Bellamy, Mr.
Thomas H. Writ;ht, Mr. Leo Sykes and Mr. R. H. Kerman appeared before the Board
to further discuss the new plumbing ret;ulation.

After the reading of Section 4 and a general discussion of this phase of the
proposed regulation; all those present seemed to be in accord on this Section
and the delet;ation of citizens left the meeting.

The remainder of the time of the meeting was taken up by a discussion on various
phases of the new plumbing regulation. Those leading the discussion were Mr.
Goodyear, Mr. Davis and Mr. Kermon. No final action was taken.

A letter from Mr. Fred Willetts was read in which he offered his resignation
as the citizens' representative on the committee to draw up the revised plumbing
code. It was moved by Hayor White, seconded by Dr. Wessell, that Mr~ Willetts'
resignation be accepted. Carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
