Bryant Hare, Jr. and Dr. J. C. Knox. In the absence of the chainllan, }Iuyor Allsbrook presided. On motion by Dr. Knox, seconded by Dr. Hare, the minutes of Ghe last meeting were approved without reading; copies having been sent to the Board members. Carried. A welcome was extended to Dr. Benjamin Allen, who arrived December 1, 1961, to assume his duties as Psychologist in the Mental Health Division of the Health Department. . j delegation representing the Wise Home Builders appeared before the Board to clarify certain items regarding building permits and sewerage facilities for the homes they are selling. The Board expressed its appreciation to them for showing cooperation in this matter. 10 ,........ The Health Director discussed "hat had appeared in the ne,'mpapera in the last few days Hith regard to the possibility of the County renovating and adapting the IsaQc Bear School property for quarters for the Health Department and the Welfare ~epartment. Dr. Davis, Health Director, presented this without prejudice. The Board members pr~sent discussed at length the cost of this move and came to the conclusion that it would not be in the best D1terest of the County to spend money needed on this old building at this or any other time....They unanimously felt that they would be putting money into a building that is already old, in poor condition, without adequate wiring or adequate heat. They felt that it would be better to repair the present building occupied by the Health Department until such tilne as new facilities can be provided. - Certain items regarding the City Sewer System which has recently come to light was discussed with the Board. y~. Ed,vards stated that }~. Churchill had not seemed willing to make certain corrections which }~. Ed,vurds feels constitutes a serious public h0alth danger. ~. Allsbrook asked to be allowed to handle this matter. The School of Public Health Nursing advised the Health Director that they appre- 'ciated the opportunity of having two of their student nurses study in the Health Department last year; that they would like to again have the privilege of sending nurses for study in this Departwent. Hi0s Davis, Nurse Supervisor, feels that it will be possible to work with three this year. On motion by Dr. Knox the meeting adjourned. Approved R.fMM,t nh;f J 196:.- f b'r ~.
