MINUTES OF BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING - August 2, 1972 - Present: Dr. Heyward Bellamy, Chairman, Dr. James Smith, Dr. Frank Reynolds, Mr. Ed Carter, Mr. H. A, Marks, Attorney James Fox and Mr. Charles Boney, Architect JUrle ~I Minutes of the ~ meeting were approved by motion of Mr, Marks, seconded by Mr. Carter. Measles Vaccine Prop;ram: Dr. Bellamy announced that there would be special measles clinics held in the schools this fall to give the combined Red Measles and German Measles vaccine to all children under twelve who have not had the vaccines. Of course parental permission is required. New Quarters: Mr. Charles Boney, Architect, Dr. Frank Reynolds and Dr. J. C, Knox, had been to Raleigh to meet with the Medical Care Commission representa- tives. Present at that meeting were Mr. I. 0, Wilkerson, Director, Mr, Conrad Taylor and Mr. Haskins. Mr, Boney reported that they indicated they would participate in an 18,000 square foot building at $30.00 per square foot ($25.00 for the building and $5.00 for equipment). This would be a total of $240,000 from Medical Care Commission. They could not give a firm promise but said they realized our great need and indicated they would put our program "on top of the pile". Mr. Boney also showed charts of proposed location on hospital grounds and a sketch of building floor plan. .. Mr. Boney asked permission to proceed with test borings on the site, cost of approximately $350.00 and a topography survey at the cost of approximately $300.00. Mr. Marks made the motion, seconded by Dr. Smith that Mr. Boney go ahead with these and that the cost be paid from our Capital Reserve Fund. Motion carried.
