Carter, Mr. George Chadwick, Mr. Deother Melvin, Mrs. Roma Lee Hall, Mrs. Vivian Wright, County Manager Dan Eller and County Attorney James Fox Absent: Dr. James Furr, Mr. J. R. Reaves Minutes of the December meeting were approved as presented. Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman for Board of Health: Dr. Frank Reynolds was nominated as chairman. Nomination was seconded and carried unanimously. Mr. George Chadwick was nominated as Vice Chairman. Nomination was seconded and carried unanimously. Lead Poisoning Project: Dr. Finger presented copies of the budget for the Lead Poisoning Project which had been approved by CDC. He also brought the new members of the board up to date on what had already been done in the area of lead screening. A motion was made by Dr. Seidel, seconded by Mrs. Wright, that the project be approved and that we request the County Commissioners to make necessary budget approvals. Motion carried. Skin Testing Program in Schools: Dr. Finger brought the board up to date on the planned skin testing program in the schools. Testing will begin on January 17 and all elementary school children will be given the PPD test for tuberculosis. .... X-Ray Schedule: As a matter of information Dr. Finger told the board that we have discontinued x-raying of the general public on Tuesdays because the x-ray and developing equipment needs to be cleaned once a week. Since we only have one x-ray technician this will also give her time to catch up on some of her desk work. She will x-ray Chest and Heart Clinic patients on Tuesdays if requested by the clinic physicians. Dr. Reynolds welcomed the new members to the Board and appointed Mr. Chadwick and Mr. Carter to draw up a resolution of appreciation to be sent to the retiring chairman, Dr. James TidIer, for his service to the Board.
