RESOLUTION
WHEREAS New Hanover County recognizes the importance of protecting the water
quality 111 our estuarine creeks and sounds; and
WHEREAS New Hanover County desires to ensure sustainahle coastal development that
provides for both current and future generations; and
WHEREAS New Hanover County has a visiO/l of a/ld COllllllillll{mllo the quality of life
and thc future of our community. and
WHEREAS the New Hanover County Tidal Creeks Water Quality Enhancement Project
will further these objectives;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY THAT THE COUNTY WILL COMMIT TO THE FOLLOWING
ACTIONS CONTINGENT UPON A SUCCESSFUL CLEAN WATER MANAGEMENT TRUST
FUND GRANT APPLICATION
I New Hanover County will contribute $ 1] ,580,000 over the next five year period,
as outlined in the Tidal Creeks Water Quality Enhancement Project grant application.
2. Creation of an Advisory Board to prioritize projects, allocate funds, and provide
project oversight for the Tidal Creeks Water Quality Enhancement Project.
