Road(s) Description
IRIS STREET, WHISPER CREEK SUBDIVISION
WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County
Commissioners of the County of New Hanover requesting ~hat the above described
raad(s), the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be
added to the Secondary Road System; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above
described road(s) should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road(s)
meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of
the Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to the System
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of the County
of New Hanover that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the
above described road(s), and to take over the road(s) for maintenance if they
meet established standards and criteria

A RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, the Town ofKure Beach, North Carolina, has been designated the lead agency
in the 3.2 miles project for Public Beach Renourishment known as the Carolina Beach and Vicinity-
Area South, Hurricane Wave and Shore Protection Project; and
WHEREAS, the Town ofKure Beach has obtained over 90% of the perpetual easement and
right-of-way over and across landowner's property in Kure Beach and outside the town limits in the
extraterritorial limits ofKure Beach that lies in New Hanover County; and
WHEREAS, these easements are located between the CAMA Line and the Atlantic Ocean,
there still remains ten property owners in Kure Beach and five property owners in New Hanover
County that refuse to voluntarily participate in this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of New
Hanover County hereby approves and designates the Town ofKure Beach as the lead agency in this
project and to proceed to take whatever legal action or recourse under law to obtain the necessary
easements required to construct the Beach Renourishment Project in order to preserve public safety,
welfare and property rights.
