1996-04-01 RM Exhibits NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION Whereas, New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington jointly prepared and adopted a CAMA Land Use Plan in 1976 and jointly updated that plan in 1982, 1987, and 199193; and Whereas, the North Carolina Coastal Area Management Act requires that the Land Use Plan be updated approximately every five years; and Whereas, New Hanover County recognizes that efficient and orderly growth can best be accomplished through coordination and cooperation in making planning and service provision decisions; and Whereas, plans for land uses and development by residents and private industry are best served by a single, coordinated set of public growth policies; and Whereas, New Hanover County has a vision of and commitment to the quality of life and the future of our community; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that New Hanover County enters into agreement with the City of Wilmington to jointly prepare and adopt a CAMA Land Use Plan Update in accordance with CAMA guidelines, as implemented by a workplan to be agreed upon by the County and City. '" :~~ r: ~..I~ .~~ '" ~ I i~i fi ~ ~ ,f' '~. er ;.! 1J!: '?~:! ;;.' ~, 9 '" ;p 'Ii i'i\ ',~ Sit ";v , ~S j ..~ tE t} ;j '~ ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER, NORTH CAROLINA, AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY ADOPTED OCTOBER 6, 1969 THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY DOTH ORDAIN section 1 That the Zoning Ordinance of the County of New Hanover adopted October 6, 1969, as amended be and the same is hereby further amended as follows Reword section 53-1 to read 53-1 The R-10 District is established as a district in which the principal use of land is for residential purposes with access to either public water or public sewer If public water is not available, then the water system infrastructure must be installed in accordance with County standards and connected when a public supply becomes available section 2 Any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance, to the extent of such conflict is hereby repealed section 3 This ordinance is adopted in the interest of public health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the County of New Hanover, North Carolina, and shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER, NORTH CAROLINA, AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY ADOPTED OCTOBER 6, 1969 THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY DOTH ORDAIN section 1 That the Zoning Ordinance of the County of New Hanover adopted October 6, 1969, as amended be and the same is hereby further amended as follows Revise section 120-1, Creating the Board of Adjustment, as follows TWo (2) or more alternates may be appointed for a term of three (3) years section 2 Any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance, to the extent of such conflict is hereby repealed section 3 This ordinance is adopted in the interest of pUblic health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the County of New Hanover, North Carolina, and shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption Adopted this 1st day of April, 1996 1?LI~ Robert G Greer, Chairman STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTYCOMMISSIONERS IN THE MATTER OF RENAMING LANCASTER STREET (SR 1488) TO CHEWNING STREET ORDINANCE It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the renaming of a public road to Chewning Street located in the Harnett Township in the Middle Sound community and commencing approximately 1,080 feet north from the Middle Sound Loop Road/Hess Avenue intersection, extending 470 feet southwest to its intersection with Bailey Avenue and recorded as part of Map Book 6, Page 52 ( Ocean View Development)ofthe New Hanover County Registry and it further appearing that a public hearing was held on Monday, April 1, 1996, at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not the renaming would be in the public interest; and it further appearing that notice of said hearing was transmitted to all resident owners and prominently posted in at least two (2) locations along said road, and published in the Star News local newspaper and the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that said road in New Hanover County should be renamed and the renaming of same is in the public interest, the description of which is delineated on the attached exhibit. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AND DECREED that the above described road is hereby renamed Chewning Street. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a copy of this ordinance be recorded in the office ofthe Register of Deeds of New Hanover County North Carolina, and that notice of the action taken by the Board of County Commissioners be transmitted to the postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, the North Carolina Board of Transportation and to any city within five (5) miles of said road in accordance with N C. Greer Chairman ()2./ '<-/ xk _ '-./~ to the Board STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTYCOMMISSIONERS IN THE MATTER OF ASSIGNING STREET HOUSE NUMBERS ORDER It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the assignment of house numbers on Chewning Street which commences from its intersection with Hess Avenue extending Southwest to its intersection with Bailey Avenue, Ocean View development, numerical ranges 7000-7099 WHEREAS, ready and accurate identification of developed property is important for the delivery of general County services, for the operation of commercial enterprises, for the response of emergency and public safety vehicles, and for the convenience of the general public; and WHEREAS, a comprehensive and systematic property numbering system is an efficient means of identifYing property within the County; and WHEREAS, such a system will promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of New Hanover County THEREFORE, it further appearing that a public hearing was held on the 1st day of April, 1996, at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not assigning house numbers would be in the public interest, and it further appearing that notice of said hearing was prominently posted in at least two (2) locations along said street, that notice of the time, place and subject matter of the hearing was prominently posted at the County Courthouse and published in a newspaper of general circulation in the County NOW THEREFORE, it is ordained and decreed that the above house number assignments be made. It is further ordered that a copy of this ordinance be transmitted to the Postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, to the Board of Transportation, Sheriffs 911 Dispatcher and to any city within five miles of said road in accordance with N C.
