1996-07-10 EMx Exhibits PROCLAMATION DECLARING A 5T A TE OF EMERGENCY IN NEW HANOVER COUNTY Pursuant to County Ordinance Art. II Sec. 6.7-16 and Chapter 166A of the General Statutes and Article 36A Chapter 14 of the General Statutes, it has been determined that a State of Emergency as defined in County Ordinance Sec. 7.5 exist in the County of New Hanover. I, HEREBY PROCLAIM the existence of a State of Emergency in the County of New Hanover, on this the 10th of July, 1996, due to Hurricane Bertha. I HEREBY ORDER all county law enforcement officers, county employees, and all other emergency management personnel subject to my control to cooperate in the enforcement and implementation of the provisions of the county emergency ordinances. I HEREBY ORDER a voluntary evacuation of the beach communities and low- lying areas to begin around 3:00 P.M. this Wednesday, July 10, 1996, and authorize the Board of County Commissioners to invoke mandatory evacuation of the beach communities, as well as other restrictions and curfews as needed.
