Harrell, Clerk to the Board ~ .AiR "",:','1 ~~~' "':'1 RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMl\l1SSIONERS RESCINDING PREVIOUS RESOLUTION OF ENDORSEMENT FOR THE SOUTHERN ALTERNATIVE OF THE US 17 WILMINGTON BYPASS WHEREAS, on September 6, 1994, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution of endorsement for the Southern Alternati ve of the US 17 Wilmington Bypass feeling it was in the best interest of the citizens of New Hanover County; and WHEREAS, at a Regular Meeting of the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners held on May 15, 1995, public comments were received from the Wrightsboro Community about the number of homes and businesses that would be disturbed by the Southern Alternative; and WHEREAS, based upon the many concerns presented and received about the negative impact to the Wrightsboro Community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners does hereby, revoke, rescind, and declare void the previous resolution of endorsement for the Southern Alternative of the US 17 Wilmington Bypass. '" AF /7/ /,/,:,1/(/// i' / /. / / / /// /'.-( /1 ~'C""/' ~~ c1 ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County, North Carolina, does hereby resolve: WHEREAS, the Town of Kure Beach proposes to undertake certain construction and stabilization of the beach, both in the Town limits and the unincorporated County; and WHEREAS, it is conceivable that some adjoining beach front property owners may assert some claim or title to such newly constructed or stabilized beach; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to create by Local Act a statute of limitations to govern the filing of any landowner claims or suits; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to establish by Local Act a Building Line to ensure. appropriate public use of the beach. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County hereby endorses the proposed local bill captioned "An Act Relating To The Title To The Land Built Up And Constructed In The Town OfKure Beach And Vicinity In The County Of New Hanover." The City further supports their 3pplication to North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for law Incoma tax credits for this development, The Hooper School Apartments. ihe conversion of the Hooper SchoOl Into twenty two (22) 3partments for elderly residents and the new construction of twenty-eight (28) multi-family apartments on the Hooper campus is an excellent way for the City to reclaim a once viable academic building for new and necessary US~ of hoysing for the efderly' and low income families. Providing safe, sanitary and affordable housing for the elderly and families by the private sector is highly desirable and works in tandem with the efforts by the City and W11FD to increase the supply of affordable housing City wide.
