SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
Notice is hereby given that the New Hanover County/City of Wilmington Community Relations Advisory
Committee’s Programming/ Education Subcommittee will hold a Special Called meeting on the Tuesday January
19th at 4:00 p.m. via teleconference and/or virtual platform (Zoom) instead of in-person.
Meeting Topic:
Most of the provisions of HB142 prohibiting cities from developing antidiscrimination ordinances related to
LGBTQ people expired on December 1, 2020.
C-RAC committee made recommendations regarding such an ordinance to the City of Wilmington and New
Hanover County last year. During this meeting, leaders of local organizations will be invited to discuss next
steps to support and encourage the creation of anti-discrimination ordinances for our community.
