1994-07-18 RM Exhibits ..... -- ,""" 1,,;4 BOARD RESOLUTION OF THE OF COMMISSIONERS OF HANOVER COUNTY NEW WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance Department at 2:00 p.m. on the 28th day of June, 1994, at the County Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following bids were received for One (1) Sanitary Landfill Compactor of Four Wheel Design for the New Hanover County Landfill and the sale of a 1986 Caterpillar 816B Compactor as a trade-in, Bid # 94-0383: Gregory Poole Equipment Co. - Option # 1 Single Price Method Gross Equipment Price Less Trade-in Price Net Equipment Price $235,068.00 $ 22,000.00 $213,068.00 Gregory Poole Equipment Co. - Option # 2 Total Cost Method Gross Equipment Price Less trade-in Price Net Equipment Price $235,068.00 $ 22,000.00 $213,068.00 Plus Repair and Maintenance Expense Guarantee $ 60,330.00 Less Buy Back Price: $ 55,000.00 (If County exercises the Buy Back Option) Total Cost $218,398.00 AND WHEREAS, the Finance Director recommends that the 1986 Caterpillar 816B Compactor be disposed of by means of trade-in on the purchase of a Sanitary Landfill Compactor of Four Wheel Design in the amount of Twenty-two Thousand Dollars ($22,000.00); AND WHEREAS, the Environmental Management Director, the Finance Director and the County Manager recommend that the contract be awarded by the Total Cost Method to Gregory Poole Equipment Company, a foreign corporation organized under the laws of the state of Delaware, the only responsible bidder, in the amount of Two Hundred Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-eight Dollars ($218,398.00); AND WHEREAS, the initial purchase will amount to Two Hundred Thirteen Thousand Sixty-eight Dollars ($213,068.00), the Maintenance and Repair Expenses will be paid as incurred up to maximum guaranteed amount of Sixty Thousand Three Hundred Thirty Dollars ($60,330.00), and the County will determine at the end of the five year period whether or not to exercise the buy back option in the amount of Fifty-five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00); AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in or will be available in subsequent year's Account No. 720-480-8000-6000-SWPRJ01G or 700-480-4191-3920 to cover this contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that the contract for One (1) Sani tary Landfill Compactor of Four Wheel Design for the New Hanover.County Landfill, Bid # 94-0383 be awarded by the total cost method to Gregory Poole Equipment Company in the amount of Two Hundred Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-eight Dollars ($218,398.00); the initial purchase will amount to Two Hundred Thirteen Thousand Sixty-eight Dollars ($213,068.00), the Maintenance and Repair Expenses will be paid as incurred up to maximum guaranteed amount of Sixty Thousand Three Hundred Thirty Dollars ($60,330.00), and the County will determine at the end of the five year period whether or not to exercise the buy back option in the amount of Fifty-five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00); and that the County is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract, contract form to be approved by the County Attorney.
