When a development proposal is submitted under this section, it shall be processed as a major subdivision (more than five lots), under the provisions of the New Hanover County Subdivision Regulations as amended. WHEREAS, each employee transferred from New Hanover County shall receive equal or better benefits at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center as they had while employed with New Hanover County. Greer, Chairman J-o I( A RESOLU110N OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SUPPORI1NG FLOW CONTROL AS A MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT TOOL WHEREAS, New Hanover County has invested significant resources in developing an integrated solid waste management system to protect the environment and the public health, and WHEREAS, the control of solid waste flow allows state and local governments to ensure that solid waste is disposed in an environmentally sound manner that reduces future liability, and WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina encourages "Counties and municipalities... to operate their solid waste management systems through the use of an enterprise fund (NCGS i30A- 08(b))", and WHEREAS, the Control of solid waste flow establishes a stable revenue base necessary to pay the debt service on capital-intensive solid waste management facilities, and WHEREAS, the control of solid waste flow enables local governments to achieve State- mandated waste reduction goals, NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS THAT: New JIanover County strongly urges the Senate to support Senator Frank Lautenburg (D-NJ) and his bill ~~2227, which authorizes local governments to control the flow of solid waste and, be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that New Hanover County strongly urges the Senate to attach S.2227 to the interstate waste bill in order to bring it to action on the Senate floor and, be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that New Hanover County strongly urges Senators George Mitchell (D-ME) and Robert Dole (R-KS) to set aside time on the Senate floor calendar for action on this bill {SEAL} ~y Robert G.
