1987-01-19 Water & Sewer 124 MINUTES OF N.IS~ t1Al'IUV.lSK COUNTY WAT.IS.R AND S.lSW.lSf{ DISTRICT MEETING, JANUARY 19, 8 ~ I" r ASSEMBLY The New Hanover County Water and Sewer District met Regular Session on Monday, January 19, 1987, at 11: o'clock A.M. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover Coun Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmingto , North Carolina. District Members present were: Commissioners Jo Dolan; Nolan O'Neal; Fred Retchin; Vice-Chairman, W. Albe Corbett, Jr.; Chairman, Jonathan Barfield, Sr.; Coun Manager, G. Felix Cooper; County Attorney, Robert W. Pop and Clerk to the Board, Lucie F. Harrell. Chairman Barfield called the meeting to order. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Co~~issioner Retchin MOVED, Corbett to approve the minutes December 15, 1986, - as presented. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. SECONDED by Vice-Chairm the Regular Meeting Upon vote, the MOTI 'I NON -AGENDA ITEMS Chairman Barfield asked if speak on an item not listed on following person commented: anyone present wished the Regular Agenda. T l J Mr. William Funderburg, a resident of Castle Hayn , North Carolina, recommended all County employees to sta their name and title when making presentations before t County Commissioners in order to identify themselv properly for the general public and assist in t transcribing of tapes. ACCEPTANCE OF GRAY GABLES SEWER SYSTEM Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chairm Corbett to authorize the Chairman to execute documents f acceptance of the Gray Gables Sewer System. Upon vote, t MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 GOODYEAR MECHANIC CONTRACTORS After discussion of an adjustment at the end of t contract for use of more 4" inch line and less 6" inch lin , Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chairm Corbett to approve Change Order #1 in the amount $41,614.33 to Goodyear Mechanical Contractors for connecti of houses in the Seagate Area to the sewer system. Up vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. DISCUSSION OF METERS FOR THE SEWER SYSTEM Commissioner Dolan commented on letters being rece'ved with reference to installation of meters asking if me ers can be installed on discharge rather than on intake? Engineer Blanchard commented on no feasible sewer m ter stating whenever possible, meters will be installed to m ter only what goes into the house. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Commissi ner Dolan to adjourn the Regular Meeting. Upon vote, the MO ION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
