ZONING AREA NO. 5
THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY ZONING AREA NO. 5 IS DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Beginning at a point in the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway
17, said beginning point being the intersection of the New Hanover County-
Pender County Line (at the northern end of New Hanover County) with the said
southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 17; thence from said beginning
point along, and with the afarementioned New Hanover County-Pender County Line
in a southeastwardly direction approximately 7,:)00 feet to a point in the center-
line of Futch Creek; th;once along and with thz! centerline of Futch Creek (which
for this portion is tho NEE, Hanover County-Pender County Lina) as it meanders in
a southeastwardly direction to its intersection with the centerline of the Intra-
coastal Waterway; thence leaving the said Now Hanover County-Pender County Line
and proceeding along and with the centerline of the Intracoastal Waterway in a
southwastwardly direction approximately 145,000 feet to a point, said point being
the intersection of the centerline of the Intracoastal Waterway with the centerline
of Pages Creek, said point being further described as being in the northeastern
boundary of New Hanover County Zoning Aren No. 3. Thence along and with th,-_

It is the intent of the above description to describe the original outer
boundaries of the area know as Zoning Area No. 5 as shown on the New Hanover
County Zoning Map - Zoning Area No. 5 as approved by action of the County
Comissioners at their meeting on July 6, 1971.
ZONING, DISTRICTS OF ZONING AREA NO. 5
ZONING AREA NO. 5 is hereby divided into the following zoning districtst
R-15 RESIDINTIAL DISTRICT
The herein delineated area described as Zoning Area No. 5 shall be designated
as R-15 (Residential), except those areas specifically designated as any other
zoning district.
R-20 RESIDRNTM DISTRICT
A R-20 (Residential) District being located adjacent to the Intracoastal
Waterway, south of Futch Creek and north of Pages Creek, described as followst
Hegianing at a point in the centerline of the Intracoastal Waterway, said
point being the intersection of Lhe centerline of Fetch Greek with said center-
line of the Intracoastal Waterway; thence along and with the centerline of the
Intracoastal Waterway in a southwestvardly direction approximately 145,400 feet
to a point, said plaint being the intersections of the centerline of the Intra-
coastal Waterway with the centerline of Pages Creek,, said point being further
described as beaing, in the northeastern boundary of the New Hanover County Zoning
Area No. 3. Thence along and with the centerline of Pages Creek as it wearAers

Futch Creek as it meanders in an eaastwardly direction approximately 9,200 feet,

B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT
A B-1 (Business) District being located at the intersection of S.R. 1402
with U.S. Highway 17, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S.
Highway 17, said beginning point located 400 feet northeast of the intersection
of the northeastern right-of-way line of S.R. 1402 with the southeastern right-
of-way line of U.S. Highway 17, as measured along the said southeastern right-
of-way line of U.S. Highway 17; thence in a southeastwardly direction and at
right angles from the :southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 17, 200
feet to a point; thence in a southwestwardly direction parallel to and 200
feet southeast of the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 17, 660
feet to a point; thence in a northwestwardly direction and at right angles to
U.S. Highway 17, 200 feet to a point in the southeastern right-of-way line of
U.S. Highway 17; thence along and with the said southeastern right-of-way line
of U.S. Highway 17, 660 feet to the point of beginning.
B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT
A B-1 (Business) District being located Pt the intersection of S.R. 1491
with U.S. Highway 17, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway
17, said beginning point located 400 feet northeast of the intersection of the
northeastern right-of-way line of S.R. 1491 with the southeastern right-of-way
line of U.S. Highway 17, as measured along the said southeastern right-of-way
line of U.S. Highway 17; thence in a southeaastwardly direction and at right
angles from the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 17, 200 feet to
a point; thence in a southwestwordly direction parallel to and 200 feet southeast
of the southeastern right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 17, 660 feet to a point;
thence in a northwestviardly direction and cal. right angles to U.S. Highway 17,
