Ashley Garner called the meeting to order at 4 pm.

Ms. Rigby presented an updated timeline for Project Grace.

A motion to accept the August 1, 2018 meeting minutes was made, seconded and approved without opposition.
Advisory Board Minutes: Rob Cameron
A motion to accept the July 18, 2018 meeting minutes was made, seconded and approved without opposition.

Museum Advisory Chairman’s Report: Rob Cameron
Smithsonian Affiliates
Smithsonian Affiliates are adding two months to the Cape Fear Museum annual membership due to Hurricane Florence disrupting the promotion of the new membership program.
Downtown Trolley
The test route including the museum was cut short due to Hurricane Florence, and WAVE is going to attempt another test this spring. This will be beneficial as it is the start of the
tourist season.
Advisory Board Collections Report: Rob Cameron
Rob Cameron reviewed the accessions to be submitted to NHC Board of Commissioners for approval. A motion to accept the accessions was made, seconded and approved without opposition.
Museum Report/Tour: Sheryl Mays
Sheryl Mays discussed what the museum had been doing post hurricane. The education team has developed relationships with the housing authority and also partnered with other agencies
to have programing in the community during the museum’s closure.
Mays then discussed the October 19 reopening with free admission. The Museum was able to rebook the fall People of the Past program for all New Hanover County School 4th grade classes.
Mays reminded the boards to look at programs and events listed on their agenda and to mark their calendars for November 16th for the PNG Superhero Family Night.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. With unanimous consent, the meeting ended with a tour of the museum to look at the impact of the hurricane.
The next board meeting will be held on Thursday, November 15th at 4:00 pm in Williston Auditorium at Cape Fear Museum.
