The Cape Fear Museum Advisory Board held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Williston Auditorium at Cape Fear Museum. The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Rob Cameron at 4:00 pm.
Approval of Minutes: Rob Cameron
A motion to accept the October 17, 2018 minutes was made, seconded and approved without opposition.
Consideration of Absences: Rob Cameron
Garner, Motsinger, Ray and White indicated their inability to attend this meeting and has been excused.
Chairman’s Report: Rob Cameron
Cameron asked that all board members attend at least one museum event in the fiscal year.
He also informed every one of the Project Grace meeting January 16th.. After the meeting with the boards the information will be going public. Cameron encouraged all board members to
attend the public meetings.
A majority of board members requested to be on the collections committee, so there was a drawing to see who would serve. The winner was Dennis Dixon.
Associate Board Report: Sheryl Mays
Mays invited everyone to participate in the raffle for Hamilton tickets.
She also thanked Kevin Maurer for joining the development committee.
March 21st will be the STEM ILM still looking for sponsors.
Collections Committee Report: David Ball
Ball reviewed the accessions to be submitted to NHC Board of Commissioners for approval.
A motion to accept the accessions was made, seconded and approved without opposition.
Museum Report: Director Sheryl Mays
Mays updated the board on county budget and presented a year in review.
Old Business/New Business:
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. With unanimous consent, the meeting ended at 5 pm.
The next board meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at 4:00 pm in Williston Auditorium at Cape Fear Museum.
