The Board of District Commissioners of the New Hanov
County Water and Sewer District met in Special Session on Monda ,
ugust 7, 1989, at 10:06 o'clock P.M. in the General Assemb
oom of the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Stree ,
ilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: District Commissioners E. L. Mathew ,
Jr.; Nolan O'Neal; Fred Retchin; Vice-Chairman, W. Albe t
Corbett, Jr.; Chairman, Jonathan Barfield, Sr.; County Manage,
G. Felix Cooper; County Attorney, Robert W. Pope; and Clerk 0
the District, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Barfield called the Special Session to order.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
District Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Distri t
Commissioner O'Neal to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeti g
of June 26, 1989; Solid Waste Disposal Public Hearing of June 2 ,
1989; and Special Meeting of July 10, 1989, as presented. Up n
vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION PROVIDING THE PRIVATE SALE OF $6,062,0 0
SEWER BONDS OF THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
THE FARMERS HOME ADMINISTRATION
County Attorney, Robert W. Pope, requested adoption of a
resolution authorizing the private sale of $6,062,000 sewer bon s
to the Farmers Home Administration. The bonds will be sold at a
rate of interest not to exceed 7.125% for 40 years, and the sa e
has been approved by the Local Government Commission.
Motion: District Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED Y
Vice-Chairman Corbett to adopt the resolution authorizing t e
sale of $6,062,000 sewer bonds as presented by the Coun y
Attorney. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
