PPROVAL OF REIMBURSEMENTS ON EXTENDING AND OVERSIZING

County Engineer, Wyatt Blanchard, stated during constructio

PROVAL OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA NATIONAL GUARD
Assistant County Manager, Mary Gornto, stated the Nationa
uard has been operating a sewer treatment plant on the east sid
f the airport which has serviced the FAA tower and FB
peration. Recently, the North Carolina Department 0
nvironmental Management determined that the plant's discharg
nto Smith Creek is no longer acceptable and that a new syste
ust be under contract by October 31, 1990. The National Guar
as requested execution of an agreement that will allow th
ounty to act as an agent for the National Guard in the desig
nd construction of their portion of the new system on the Guar
roperty. In addition, the agreement allows for the Guard t
rovide up to $90,000 of funding for their portion of the sewe
ystem serving the Guard property. The total cost of the syst
s estimated to be $160,000, and FAA has forwarded a lett
ndicating they will consider financial participation
