3.Food Truck Rodeo. Cheryl distributed a list of trucks and money collected. She noted we received good press
and a great response from the board. Initially, there were 21 trucks were signed up, but several dropped out. The
st
final number of trucks was 17 and we made $4,270.00. The next Food Truck Rodeo will be held October 31 at
Long Leaf Park. There are some good opportunities for Halloween-themed and Pokemon Go activities. Philip
asked how this compared to revenue from past events. Jodi explained this was the first event where we
implemented a flat fee to participate instead of trying to collect 10% of sales. Jessica noted that the Conservancy
tent location was great, and they got to speak to a lot more people. The group also liked that the trucks were

spread out and that there was a great mix of food choices. Cheryl noted that with a smaller number of trucks, we
have better control over variety and set up. Mark asked if more trucks could be added for the next event at long
Leaf.
Areas to improve: Signs on each truck noting that the funds were going to NHC Parks. Jim noted a missed
opportunity to sell Plant-an-Azalea cards. (Janine will make sure they are there for the next event.) Mark
suggested we add signage about the cards and get a couple of azaleas to display. David asked about expanding

the evening. Discussion also about seating for people and sponsors for the event and possible demonstrations by
skateboard and bike companies. Mark asked about 2022 dates and staff will have potential dates to consider at
the next meeting.

winter. Construction is expected to take 9-12 months to complete. Tara shared our vision/idea boards for both
of the design phases of Northern Regional and Smith Creek Park. Board member Tess suggested contacting Mossy
Fox Studios for some of the art features. A Ninja Warrior-type course will be added to Long Leaf Park and the
current basketball court near the ballfields will be turned into a Kids Court. A new adult court will be constructed
next to the Ninja Warrior course with a shared shade structure and seating between them.
